Let the Adventure Begin!

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Facing a new year can be challenging, but as we are reminded to trust in God as our Creator, we can face the new year with courage and hope.   God wants to do a new thing in us this new year!   He wants to continue to work in us what He has begun when we first believed in Him!  “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6, NIV).  The Apostle Paul recognized the continue work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.  How wonderful to know that God has not given up on us! God wants to do something new in us!

How can I have God continue that good work?  By not allowing the past to tangle or trip me up from gaining new ground in my walk with God.  God forgives and cleanses us from all sin when we confess –agree with Him (I John 1:9).  This clean slate allows His Spirit to do a new work in one’s life!   Just imagine, what new thing does the Lord want to do in you?  The key is being aware of His working in my life and letting Him have His way in me… that requires surrender, submission, and sacrifice.  Am I willing to let God have His way in me, for Him to do a new thing?  If I am, the adventure begins, as the apostle Paul stated, “13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13, NIV).

So, may you discover and delight in the new things that God is doing in you this new year!

Blessings,

Teddy
