Making Memories in May!
For some folks, the month of May can be mayhem! Graduations, Weddings, students, teachers, parents all trying to get their last-minute check lists done in order to enjoy ceremonies, accomplishments and the end of another school year! Through all the busyness, have you ever taken a moment to stop and enjoy the event that is taking place!
For me personally, my family and I are celebrating my youngest from graduating high school! We are so proud as parents of his accomplishments and we are excited about what God has for him in the future! I am trying to enjoy the moment instead of letting the pressures of busyness rob me from a wonderful memory.
Jesus enjoyed some moments when he walked on earth. He enjoyed eating and dining with various people. He was known as a “friend of sinners” (Matt. 11:19). When I think about Christ’s life, I would speculate to say that He enjoyed the teachable moments with his disciples (Matthew 16:13-20). He was energized by the Spirit when accomplishing miracles (Matthew 14:13-21) and He endured pain, suffering and death to bring salvation to the world (John 3:16).
In fact, there will be great celebration when all of God’s children, believers in Christ are once and for all gathered around the throne in heaven! (Revelation 21) Talk about making a memory!!! What a great future we have to look forward to! But in the mean-time, this question comes to mind – am I taking the time in the hurriedness of life to enjoy the moments or am I allowing the busyness of the moments to cause mayhem? Thoughts to ponder this May…
